Hyundai AR Showroom
Hyundai’s new generation i30 featured a raft of advanced safety features throughout the range. As a key differentiator, it was crucial for the brand to communicate these features to consumers. Delivered as a cross-platform mobile application, Hyundai AR Showroom utilised AR visualisations to demystify these complex systems without disrupting the face to face sales process.
By designing custom, removable signage, AR experiences could be initialised directly from the physical vehicle, displaying 3D animations that illustrate the function and benefit of each of the Smart Sense safety features. User research revealed additional opportunities to add value by presenting styling and customisation options as overlays on the showroom vehicles.
Challenges included technical aspects of tracking the physical vehicles in a range of environmental conditions; presenting accurate, quality visuals on mobile devices; and ensuring the user experience suited brand identity, and fitted seamlessly within the sales process.
Following the success of the initial rollout, the product was later expanded with activations for two new vehicle models.
